Cupping

Cupping involves quickly inserting fire into a glass cup to remove oxygen  creating a vacuum and then the practitioner places the cup on the  patient. Cups may either be placed stationary or the practitioner will run the cups along the affected area being treated. Cupping breaks up stagnation, strengthen blood flow, moves Qi, and pulls out toxins from the body.

Some of the symptoms or diseases cupping may treat include:

Arthritis

Asthma

Bronchitis

Cellulite

Common cold and flu

Constipation

Gastrointestinal disorders

Fever

Frozen shoulder

Migraine

Muscle pain

Poor circulation

Tennis elbow

Cupping most likely will leave circular red marks that will disappear usually within  3-5 days. If the upper back is treated, the patient should wear a scarf to cover the exposed skin. Patients should not swim, exercise or shower for the remainder of the day.
